Ebbe Park is an innovative new community district in Linköping, where residents and businesses co-share resources and a sustainable lifestyle vision. With plans to build seven hundred and fifty new apartments, a school, recreation facilities and and 75,000 square meters of office space, Ebbe Park is pioneering smart sustainable solutions, for community living and urban development.
Interior architects Arrow Architects & Winell Jern have used BAUX designs in Repfabriken, the first building to be completed on the site. With its characteristic jagged roof, Repfabriken takes its inspiration from the rope and rug factory that was once located on the site. The building is a test bed for sustainable technologies and the multi-storey workspace includes offices, a large atrium, a café and underground parking.
The central section of Repfabriken features an open plan entrance and staircase spanning the full height of the building. Floor to ceiling windows offers vistas over Ebbe Park with seating close by for relaxation or chance meetings and conversations. The design team has used BAUX triangular tiles in an impressive wall design that stretches over three floors. The motif in the triangular BAUX rendering takes its inspiration from the evergreen forest of Sweden and the fabric-making traditions of the local area. Muted greens coalesce across the full length of the open space to create a beautifully tranquil tapestry. The wood wool fibers of the BAUX design quietly absorb noise in the space.
The design team have added some unique touches to the BAUX design in Repfabriken: integrated lighting. Using lights in your BAUX designs can add a unique effects to the patterning of the wood wool tiles adding ambience to your workspace. In Repfabriken, triangular lamps have been fabricated to match the dimension of the BAUX tiles. Woven into the BAUX design they act as glimpses of sunlight pealing through the evergreen canopy.
This kind of large open space is perfect for BAUX designs. BAUX products can reduce sound reflections from hard surfaces and transform open spaces with beautiful acoustic design, creating the right conditions for people to meet and feel relaxed. An investment in good acoustics, is an investment in wellbeing and productivity.
Screws? Glue? Magnets? We often get asked how BAUX products should be fixed to walls and ceilings. For large scale installations such as Ebbe Park, screws or glue are practical and secure solutions. BAUX tiles can be attached to most surfaces with glue or screws. We recommend screws for roof renderings. BAUX products can also be purchased with magnets pre attached. If you choose to use magnets we provide a slim metal sheet, which is fixed to the wall behind your BAUX design.
