Nestled in the vibrant heart of Malmö, SPOT is a restaurant reimagined through thoughtful renovations. Its contemporary interior invites both new and returning guests into a space crafted for unforgettable moments.
Designer Johan Lindau from Blå Station, who first designed SPOT over 30 years ago, returned to preserve its unique character and welcoming atmosphere while infusing a fresh, modern aesthetic.
After two months of renovations, SPOT 2.0 has reopened, retaining its iconic status as a cherished meeting place. It now features modern touches, complemented by new and refurbished furniture from Blå Station and acoustic paneling from BAUX.
From the project’s inception, BAUX was engaged to strategically install wood wool panels, opting for a playful and cohesive pattern that flows from walls to the ceiling. Five unique patterns were selected, using the natural hue of the wood wool to beautifully harmonise with the blue accents throughout the space.
At Blå Station, Johan Lindau extended the use of BAUX Wood Wool Panels across surfaces, delivering a seamless, unified design that enhances both aesthetics and acoustics. This approach results in a striking visual rhythm, creating an inspiring environment where beauty and functionality coexist—fostering connection, creativity, and comfort.
