Kivik Hotel, located in the scenic Österlen region of southeastern Sweden, is a luxurious seaside hotel with stunning panoramic views across the Baltic Sea. The hotel has been renovated and extensively developed by the current owner in a long standing collaboration with architect Christoffer Marsvik. Hotel Kivik now has thirty two bedrooms, three suites, a restaurant, orangery and three conference rooms. The most recent addition is an elegant spa area, where guests have the chance to relax and unwind. To complement the stylish interior and improve acoustics, BAUX acoustic designs have been used exclusively in the spa and conference spaces.

The three conference rooms rise out of the hotel’s garden, above a pergola that surrounds the house and the glass wall exterior affords spectacular roof top views over the Baltic peninsula. BAUX wood wool tiles clad the ceiling, taming sound reflections common in rooms with high ceilings and full length windows. There’s a sense of continuity throughout the space as the natural fibres of the wood wool tiles blend seamlessly with the scenery outside to create a quiet, relaxed space for reflection and conversations.

Hotel Kivik now has thirty two bedrooms, three suites, a restaurant, orangery and three conference rooms.

The extensive spa area consists of two relaxation rooms and two large jacuzzi baths that offer views out into a beautiful Italian Neo-Renaissance garden. There’s also a dry sauna, an aroma steam sauna and three treatment rooms for guests to enjoy. The pool area features exposed concrete with a limestone tiled floor. A single steel beam supports the glass roof which runs the length of the pool. In open spaces, with hard surfaces, acoustics can easily become harsh and unwelcoming, so the design team have used BAUX materials on the walls and ceiling to successfully tame sound reflections from the glass and limestone floor. The wood wool fibres and choice of natural tones complement the limestone floor and sky view. The result is an elegant, peaceful space for guests to relax and unwind.

You might not know this, but BAUX wood wool materials are an ideal choice for any space with high levels of humidity. Wood wool materials are highly moisture resistant and can help to regulate indoor air quality by absorbing excess moisture and preventing mould and bacteria growth. Using BAUX designs in spas, swimming pools or saunas can help to create a more pleasant and healthy indoor environment, both in terms of air quality, humidity and noise.

Need a quiet space for rest and relaxation? Why not visit Kiviks hotel in Sweden.
